WHY I JOINED A FRATERNITY
... and why you should too!

Yes, I am a member of a fraternity, but it is not your "usual" fraternity. Alpha Rho Chi is a national, social, and professional fraternity composed of students of Architecture and the Allie d Arts. Plus it is co-ed.

Some people ask me why I pledged a fraternity. Some people are even more amazed that I pledged "the architecture fraternity." They seem to think it is some sort of sellout as an "independent" architecture student to willing choose to affiliate oneself w ith a large group (such as a fraternity). Phooey. I think they're just jealous because they got rejected.

Alpha Rho Chi offers a lot of benefits. Perhaps the greatest benefit (after fraternity, of course) is the presense of willing assitance. What I mean is that between the members of Alpha Rho Chi, nearly every Architecture professor has been taken, nearly every "standard" GE class has been taken, and every member of the fraternity is more than willing to assist other members with valuable information and advice. Plus, quite a few of the members of Alpha Rho Chi are TAs in several ARCH courses...

What intelligent person would complain about joining such an institution? Free and willing advice is less than a phone call away. And the benefits do not end with graduation. The ties gained in a fraternity continue for life -- once a member, always a member. And this is a valuable tool when one is looking for employment...
